Our Guide Package
Riding your snowmobile with a guide in Wyoming is only fun if you have all your gear.
When you come riding with 3C Guiding you will need a snowmobile, riding clothing which includes winter type boots, outer wear snow pants and coat, at least 2 pairs of insulated gloves, helmet with shield or goggles.
You need to wear the best cold weather snowmobiling clothing possible with the outer layer being water proof. Layering your clothing is the best. Based on the weather conditions you can take off or put on layers.
You will be riding in the Rocky Mountains of Wyoming at elevations over 8000 feet. Your clothing is one of the most important items on the trip. If you are cold it does not make the trip very fun.
We require all riders to wear an avalanche beacon. If you don’t have your own beacon, we have avalanche beacons available for rent at the rate of $15 a day per beacon. You can pay for this when you arrive or an option will be available when you book online.
Weather conditions are contently changing. It might be sunny and warm or snowing and blowing so come prepared for anything and to have fun.
We do NOT provide transportation to the parking lot where we will start our tour. We will bring the snowmobiles and necessary equipment with us, but it will be your responsibility to get you and your group to the parking lot to meet us for your tour.
What time do we leave?
If you are staying in Laramie – we will meet at an agreed location at 8:00 AM ready to head up the mountain. It will be your responsibility for transportation up the mountain to the trailhead where we will start your tour. You will have our services until 4:30 PM.
If you are staying on the mountain – we will meet at an agreed location at 9:00 AM. Transportation to that agreed upon location will be your responsibility. You will have our services until 4:30 PM.
Things to Remember
-
- Food and Water. 3C does not provide food or drinks. We will be in the backcountry all day and not near a Lodge for food or water.
-
-
- Extra Belt. We always recommend having an extra belt for your snowmobile, as you never know when you may blow a belt. If you are using a rental sled, always make sure it has an extra belt with it.
-
- Extra Gas. Most of the time the guides have an extra gas can with them as well for emergencies.
-
- Extra Gloves and Goggles. We are riding in the Rocky Mountains. We recommend having at least two sets of gloves with you at all times. We recommend an additional set of goggles as well.
